ADNBA- Apartment building Mumuleanu 14
The project densifies a fragmented neighborhood in central Bucharest. It works with local dwelling typologies in an attempt to preserve the flavor of small corners, courtyards, gardens, long narrow houses, which all used to fill the old center of Bucharest, and which are quickly disappearing under a fast and mostly uncontrolled development process.

DSM 2021 AWARDS Nominee – BUILDING AWARDS 2021
ADNBA-Calderon 80 Apartment Building
The new building on Calderon street houses four stylish apartments and a ground floor flexible space that, whichever its function, can be opened to the public, together with the backyard.
The project’s configuration aims to understand and be mindful of the area’s architectural standard, searching for a specific character defined by sobriety and temperance, while seeking to elegantly and discreetly take its place in front of Gradina Icoanei Park and between the neighboring buildings.

ADNBA-Dragos Voda 17
Located within an old and diverse urban fabric with long plots specific to Bucharest, the proposal appears, at first glance, as a compact volume. However, the long facades showcase a certain playfulness through an interplay of added and subtracted volumes that gives away the diversity of the interior living spaces and apartment types.

ADNBA-Splay Office Building
The new office building is placed within a triangular city block in downtown Bucharest, defined by a variety of periods and styles. An infill solution, the project completes the street front on both sides of the block and takes up the leftover space between a 20s Neo-Romanian Building and a 60s Rationalist one.

Albu Oana Elena-Embrace – Night Stand
we live in times when our lifestyle and habits are constantly changing; the objects around us should also adapt to this trend. As a result, we created this bedside table that can also play the role of a breakfast tray or a laptop stand.

A simple “box” with a rectangular shape ends the end of both streets. With a blind gable, it leans, finishing at times from height, at times from the extensive vertical plane that the main elevation of the school presents to the southeast. At the end of Dr. Manuel Lopes street, to the southwest, the elevation of the “Santos” house designed by “Àlvaro Siza” determines the option for the inclined roof, making 90º with the adjacent plane. The formal finishing of the gables/roofs allows reinforcing the importance of the recessed plan of the Municipal Library that appears to us in the middle of the street.

DSM 2021 AWARDS Nominee – BUILDING AWARDS 2021
Contaminar Architects-Povo House – AWARDS PROJECT HOUSE
The project was developed at Povo, on the outskirts of Leiria, Portugal. An area where rocky elements are predominant in the landscape, limestone lands, irregular topographies, and sharp contrasts. This unique geological context immediately gave architects a conceptual starting point that is both dreamlike and romantic without losing the connection to what is the physical and intrinsic reality of this place. Thus arises the idea of a cave, an austere carved and denticulated refuge that is humanized by its occupants.

The need of the client was to demolish and rebuild the house in which he lived, which had serious structural failure. Forlì country houses are “conventional” forms of building: on two floors, pitched roof, plastered walls. The proposal presented is linked to an “idea of classic” values of the country house and to context: dialogue and opening with the landscape, development of one floor house, use of color and materials related to the landscape, definition of different types of spaces (now open on the landscape, now more introverted).

Ellevuelle Architetti-Serra pi – ARCHITECTURE AWARDS

The social or practical usefulness of buildings is not only relevant to physical or economic viability but also their metaphysical qualities; their association with their context and their relationships with people.
