César Machado Moreira Arquitectura – Casa na Gateira – The project for this holiday home in Afife, in the North of Portugal, takes as its main condition the ruins and the silent connection they established with the surroundings.
With the belief that the ruins contained enough attributes to become the main arguments of the project, the principle was to find the balance between leaving all the parts intact understanding the structure and fragility of the original ruins and incorporating the necessary divisions to respond to the dwelling program.
